Sunday 18th Dec. Evaluating myself for Personal References.

I think my biggest strength for creating ideas is that I am playful and I don’t get stuck in one style or way of working. For example, my main interest and skill is textiles and I love focusing in detail on materials and texture, but I often push myself to think more in relation to the body and fashion to not limit my ideas.

Foundation has helped me be more fearless and try different areas of art and design. I used to think I was terrible at drawing but I’ve really developed new techniques that allow me to express my ideas.

I also think how I work with others has benefited from the foundation. I feel more inspired when surrounded by a creative atmosphere of like minded people and I definitely improve my work by seeing successful examples from my peers.

One improvement I hope to make is I want to be more thoughtful and detailed in my design process, especially in fashion design evolution I tend to want to jump between wildly different ideas which can lose the sense of development from the initial idea.

In the future, I want to be amongst those aware of fashion and textiles’ impact on the environment and people. I enjoyed meeting teams like the coded as it gave me a realistic vision of sustainability in the industry today.
